AI MAKERS AWARDS — OFFICIAL RULES v6.2 LEX

Legally binding version. London jurisdiction. Organizer: a private individual.

1. DEFINITIONS

AI Makers Awards — an international award for AI‑generative art, organized by a private individual (the “Organizer”).

Organizer — the natural person who manages the Award.

Work — any content (image, video, audio, prompt, or media composition) submitted by the Participant.

Participant — any natural person who submits a Work.

100% AI Generation — content created solely through a prompt to a generative neural network, without any manual alteration of the generated output (see Section 4).

Allowed Post‑Processing — global adjustments that do not modify the generated content on a per‑pixel or per‑sample basis: color grading, loudness normalization, track mixing, non‑linear video editing (cutting scenes without retouching individual frames). Any manual pixel‑level or sample‑level editing is prohibited.

Access Program — a charitable program using 20% of net merchandise revenue to provide free AI tool subscriptions to creators from low‑income countries.

2. LEGAL STATUS AND JURISDICTION

2.1. The Organizer acts as a private individual, not as a company or legal entity.

2.2. These Official Rules are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

2.3. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Rules or the Award shall be finally settled by the courts of London, England. No other jurisdiction shall apply. The Participant irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London.

2.4. The English version of these Rules is the sole legally binding version. Any translation (including Russian) is provided for convenience only and has no legal force.

3. CONTENT RIGHTS AND LICENSE

3.1. The Participant retains ownership of their Work.

3.2. By submitting a Work, the Participant grants the Organizer an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty‑free, non‑exclusive, worldwide license to:

  • Publish the Work on any websites, social media platforms, messengers, streaming services, or other online platforms owned or operated by the AI Makers Awards or its partners.
  • Use the Work (in whole or in part) in AI Makers Awards promotional materials: videos, posters, banners, newsletters, compilations on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, or any other platform.
  • Share the Work with AI Makers Awards’ partners (sponsors, jury members, media) for review and coverage of the Award.

3.3. The Participant is not entitled to any royalties, fees, or other compensation for any use under Section 3.2, even if the Organizer or its partners generate revenue from such use.

3.4. Once the submission period for a given season closes, the Participant may not withdraw the Work or demand its removal without the Organizer’s consent.

3.5. If a Work has been included in a compilation of best works or promotional materials before a removal request, the Organizer has no obligation to delete those composite materials.

4. PARTICIPANT’S OBLIGATIONS AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

4.1. 100% Generation Rule

The Work must be created exclusively through one or more prompts to a generative neural network. Any manual alteration of the generated output is prohibited.

4.2. Allowed Post‑Processing (does not violate the 100% rule):

  • Global color grading / LUT applied to the entire image or video.
  • Loudness normalization and limiting for audio.
  • Mixing of multiple generated tracks.
  • Non‑linear video editing (cutting, arranging scenes) without per‑frame retouching.
  • Cropping that does not alter the content’s proportions.

4.3. Prohibited Actions (automatic disqualification):

  • Manual drawing, painting, cloning, healing, stamping.
  • Per‑frame face or object retouching.
  • Manual music composition or MIDI editing.
  • Using generative fill as a manual correction tool.
  • Any pixel‑by‑pixel or sample‑by‑sample editing.

4.4. Prompt

The Participant must submit the original prompt (or prompt chain) used to generate the Work. The prompt must not be copied from a third party without significant transformation.

4.5. Video Proof

Finalists must provide, upon the Organizer’s request, a screen recording of the generation process, including prompt entry and raw neural network output. Refusal results in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any nomination.

4.6. Prohibited Content

The Work must not contain:

  • Real violence, real pornography, extremism, hate speech.
  • AI‑generated simulations of prohibited content (e.g., “porn in anime style”).
  • Material violating any applicable laws.

4.7. Participant Guarantees

By submitting a Work, the Participant guarantees:

  • The Work was created in compliance with Sections 4.1–4.4.
  • The Participant holds all necessary rights to the Work.
  • The Work does not infringe any third‑party rights.
  • The Work does not violate any laws.

5. LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION

5.1. The Participant bears sole responsibility for any third‑party claims related to the Work (plagiarism, copyright infringement, defamation, etc.).

5.2. The Organizer does not review Works for originality or legality and is not liable for their content.

5.3. If a claim is filed against the Organizer arising from a Participant’s Work, the Participant agrees to indemnify the Organizer in full for all documented expenses, including legal fees, fines, settlements, and court costs.

5.4. The Organizer does not verify the Participant’s identity. Email registration is not verification. If a third party claims ownership of a Work, the Organizer may disqualify the Work without determining the truth. Participants must resolve such disputes independently.

5.5. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any Work at any time, for any reason or no reason, without explanation.

6. ACCESS PROGRAM (CHARITABLE PROGRAM)

6.1. 20% of net merchandise revenue is permanently allocated to providing free AI tool subscriptions to creators from low‑income countries. This is part of the AI Makers Awards’ ongoing mission.

6.2. Application for the Access Program is open to anyone, regardless of participation in the Award. Selection criteria are published at aimakersawards.com/access.

6.3. Participants of the AI Makers Awards have no priority over other applicants.

7. FORCE MAJEURE

7.1. The Organizer is not liable for total or partial failure to perform obligations if caused by force majeure, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes).
  • Epidemics, pandemics, quarantine.
  • Military actions, terrorist acts, civil unrest.
  • Internet blackouts, cyber attacks, global network failures.
  • Government actions restricting the Organizer or AI Makers Awards websites/social media.
  • Refusal of service by hosting providers, domain registrars, or payment systems without prior notice.

7.2. In case of force majeure, the Award timeline may be postponed, and the ceremony may be cancelled or held in a simplified format. The Organizer will notify Participants via official channels (website, X, Telegram). No financial or other claims from Participants will be accepted.

8. PARTICIPATION FEE (FUTURE SEASONS)

8.1. The current and pilot seasons are free.

8.2. The Organizer reserves the right to introduce a nominal registration fee ($5–15) for future seasons.

8.3. The purpose of the fee is spam prevention and administrative cost coverage.

8.4. Any fee introduction will be announced at least 30 days in advance on the official website and social media.

8.5. Submissions made before the fee introduction remain free.

8.6. Participants from low‑income countries may receive a grant through the Access Program.

9. NO WARRANTIES

9.1. The Organizer does not warrant or guarantee that:

  • The Work will receive any prize or recognition.
  • The Participant will obtain any commercial contracts, orders, or opportunities.
  • The website, submission forms, or social media will operate without interruption or error.

9.2. Participation is at the Participant’s sole risk. The Organizer is not liable for any moral damage, lost profits, or any other indirect or consequential losses arising from participation or inability to participate.

10. CHANGES TO THE RULES

10.1. The Organizer may amend these Rules unilaterally at any time. The new version will be published on the website. By participating after changes, the Participant accepts the new version.

10.2. If any provision of these Rules is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

11. FINAL PROVISIONS
